Right Fit

Who this is built for

Authors with an existing readership who want a special, deluxe or collector's edition

Series authors ready to turn a finished trilogy into a box set, illustrated edition or audiobook

Debut and indie authors who need production money without giving away their rights

Children's, poetry, comic and anthology creators whose formats are expensive to print

Someone Will Claim Your Readers!

Here's the cold, hard truth. While you're waiting, someone else is cashing in on the opportunity. Every second you hesitate, a competing title is snatching up the readers you've worked so hard for. The market doesn't hit pause. Your readers don't hit pause. And neither should you.

So why hold back? The longer you wait, the harder it gets to break through the noise. The time to act is now — make the move before someone else wins the game you were meant to play.

The Approach

Why this works

Crowdfunding is not begging for money to write a book. It is selling the vision of a project your readers genuinely want to hold — a signed hardcover, a deluxe edition with maps and sprayed edges, an audiobook, an illustrated children's book, a collector's box set of a series they already finished.

The campaign itself is the smallest part. Funded campaigns are won in the weeks before launch, when demand is validated, an audience is gathered and warmed, and the reward tiers are priced against real production costs. That is the work we run for you, end to end — and it is deliberately platform-independent: we choose Kickstarter, BackerKit or another home based on your project, not on habit.

We also tell you honestly when crowdfunding is not the right move. If there is no audience to activate yet, we will say so and build that first instead of taking your money for a campaign that cannot fund.

What's included

  • Crowdfunding Readiness Audit — audience, list, platform and project fit, with a clear go / not-yet verdict
  • Campaign concept and positioning: which edition, format or project readers will actually rally around
  • Reward tier architecture priced against printing, packaging, shipping, platform and payment fees, creative costs and contingency
  • Funding goal modelled on the true minimum needed to deliver — not a hopeful number
  • Pre-launch landing page, email capture and follower/reservation drive
  • Pre-launch content engine: social, BookTok/Bookstagram, community and influencer outreach
  • Paid pre-launch acquisition funnel with cost-per-lead tracking
  • Campaign page copy, graphics and pitch video direction
  • Live campaign management: daily updates, backer comms, stretch goals, mid-campaign momentum pushes
  • Post-campaign: late pledges, backer surveys, fulfilment coordination and migration of backers into your long-term reader list

How It Works

A clear path, start to finish

Four deliberate stages. You always know what is happening, what comes next and what we need from you.

01

Step 1 of 5

Readiness Audit

We assess your audience, list, backlist and project idea, and tell you plainly whether you are crowdfunding-ready — or what to build first.

02

Step 2 of 5

Concept & Numbers

We shape the project readers will want, then cost every reward tier down to shipping and fees so your goal is one you can actually deliver on.

03

Step 3 of 5

Pre-Launch

Landing page, email capture, social content, community outreach and paid acquisition build a warm audience of people waiting for launch day.

04

Step 4 of 5

Launch & Fund

We run the live campaign day by day — updates, comments, stretch goals and momentum pushes toward and past the goal.

05

Step 5 of 5

After the Goal

Late pledges, backer surveys, fulfilment coordination, and turning one-time backers into a reader community ready for your next campaign.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need a finished book to crowdfund?+

No. Authors fund unwritten books, audiobooks, illustrations, translations, anniversary hardcovers, box sets and collector's editions of books published years ago. Often the strongest campaigns come from authors who already have readers.

Which platform do you use?+

Whichever suits the project. Kickstarter has the largest publishing audience and an all-or-nothing model; BackerKit Publishing is built around authors, audience building and collaborative campaigns; other platforms have different fee structures. We recommend after the audit.

Can you guarantee backers?+

No, and anyone who promises backers is selling you something they cannot deliver. What we build is a qualified, warmed audience before launch — which is the single biggest predictor of a funded campaign.

How much does crowdfunding actually cost me?+

Platforms take roughly 5% of a funded campaign plus about 3–5% payment processing, and then you have printing, packaging and shipping. We model all of it before setting your goal, so raising $20,000 doesn't turn into a loss.

What if the audit says I'm not ready?+

Then we don't run a campaign. We build the audience, list and platform presence first — and revisit crowdfunding when it can actually succeed.

What happens when the campaign ends?+

The relationship shouldn't. We enable late pledges where possible, run backer surveys, coordinate fulfilment, and move backers into your email list and community so the next campaign starts warm.
